Mayor Zamora warns public against fake social media accounts using his name
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora urged the public on Thursday, March 30, to be wary of fake social media accounts and pages using his name or his office to ask for money and other monetary transactions.
Zamora made the warning after receiving reports from netizens that social media accounts using his name are being used to extort money from the public.
"Huwag po kayong maniniwala doon at huwag ninyong sasagutin ang kanilang mga private at direct messages (PM/DM) sa inyo dahil hindi po galing sa akin iyon (Please don't be deceived by these impostors and don't reply to their private and direct messages because those did not came from me)," Zamora said.
He urged the public to report the fake accounts to his office as well as report and block their accounts in social media sites.
