Korean stars Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin mark first wedding anniversary today

Korean star couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin are marking their first wedding anniversary today, March 31.  It was on March 31, 2022 when the two, known as the "BinJin" couple, got married in a lavish and star-studded wedding ceremony held at Aston House, an events venue near the Grand Walkerhill Seoul hotel.  Today, March 31, Son Ye-jin uploaded their pre-wedding photo on her Instagram Stories with the caption "1st anniversary." They became a couple after starring in the hit drama “Crash Landing on You,” which ran from December 2019 to February 2020.  On New Year’s Day on Jan. 1, 2021, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin publicly announced that they were a couple.  Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin surprised fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry when they announced on Feb. 10, 2022 that they were getting married.  For the wedding, Son Ye-jin wore a Mira Zwillinger off-shoulder gown from the Spring 2022 couture collection while Hyun Bin had a tuxedo.  Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin’s close friends and colleagues attended the wedding. Guests included actress Gong Hyo-jin (who caught the bouquet), Jang Dong-gun (who delivered a congratulatory speech for the couple), Gong Yoo, Ahn Sung-ki, Park Joong-hoon, Hwang Jung-min, Han Jae-suk, Ha Ji-won, Jeon Mi-do, Jung Hae-in, Lee Min-jung, Oh Yoon-ah, Lee Jung-hyun, Jin Ji-hee, Lee Yeon-hee, Ko So-young, Kim Hee-sun, Kim Sun-a, "Crash Landing on You" writer Park Ji-eun, Joo Jin-mo, Cha Tae-hyun, Jang Young-nam, Kang Ki-young, Choi Sung-joon and Yoona. Singers who performed at the wedding were Gummy who sang “Give You My Heart,” an official soundtrack (OST) from the drama “Crash Landing on You”; Kim Bum-soo who sang “Appear,” an OST from the drama “Secret Garden” which starred Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won; and Paul Kim.  Before the wedding, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin’s agencies released pre-wedding photos of the couple. The menu at the wedding consisted of Osetra caviar, grilled lobster, sous vide seafood, sea urchin, Maltaise sauce, baguette, focaccia with olive, natural cucumber five-grain cream soup, tomato basil sorbet, Hampyeong grilled Korean beef tenderloin, herb grilled vegetables, truffle mashed potatoes, morel mushroom sauce, Guryongpo Haepung noodles, Honeymoon Honey Cake, raspberry chocolate, vanilla bean bonbon, fresh fruit and coffee and tea.  Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin gave their guests gifts including three Tom Ford perfumes, Baccarat crystal glasses and Vanav face massage roller. In the video uploaded on social media about the wedding, Son Ye-jin read her letter to Hyun Bin and told him, “Hi, honey. Today is finally our wedding day, isn't it? I still can't believe it." In his reply, Hyun Bin told Son Ye-jin, “Let’s get to know each other, understand each other, enjoy every moment, laugh a lot, and be grateful for all these things we have been given.”

Honeymoon and pregnancy

  On April 11, 2022, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin flew to Los Angeles for their honeymoon. They spent 17 days in the US before returning to South Korea on April 28.  On June 27, 2022, Son Ye-jin announced she was pregnant, nearly three months after the wedding.  “Hello everyone, how have you been? I'm doing great. Today, I want to carefully but happily share an announcement to you all. We [Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin] are expecting a new life soon,” she posted on Instagram, according to SBS News.  Son Ye-jin added, “It still feels surreal, but I'm slowly living it while feeling the changes in my body with full of concerns and excitement. I'm so grateful, but I haven't been able to tell anyone about this because I was cautious.”  On Nov. 27, 2022, Son Ye-jin gave birth to their son with Hyun Bin by her side.  "It is true that Son Ye-jin gave birth. Both the mother and child are healthy,” VAST Entertainment and MS Team Entertainment announced on Nov. 27.  Recently, a YouTuber claimed that Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin got divorced after six months. The video claimed that Hyun Bin gambled in Manila. Son Ye-jin asked for a divorce because of the financial losses due to his gambling, SBS News reported.  The agencies of the stars refuted the claims and vowed to take legal action.  "We are monitoring the rumors in real time, and we plan to take this to the court," VAST Entertainment, Hyun Bin's agency, said.
