ILOILO CITY – The provincial government of Iloilo won another Digital Governance Awards from the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

Its Information Communication Technology Management Office (ICTMO) topped the 2022 Business Empowerment-Provincial Level category for the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office Permit Tracking System (PGENRO-PTS).

ICTMO chief Salvacion Sibonga received the award in Manila on Thursday, March 30.

Developed by the ICTMO, the PGENRO-PTS is a document management, tracking, and archiving system.

The PGENRO-PTS allows users to upload, track, search, and retrieve their application for quarry permits.

The PGENRO-PTS has significantly reduced the time to process quarry permits.  From an average of three months, quarry permits can be processed within five to 11 days and significantly improved the ease of doing business.

This was the third consecutive Digital Governance Awards of the Iloilo provincial government under the administration of Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.

In 2020, an app developed by ICTMO for contract-tracing topped the Best in Covid-19 Pandemic Response category. In 2021, an online hospital referral system won second place.
