Remains of 72 OFWs from Saudi Arabia to be sent home Friday - DOLE
The remains of 72 more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who died in Saudi Arabia will be flown home on Friday, the Department of Labor and Employment said.

The Labor department said the remains will be part of the fourth batch of OFWs that will arrive via a chartered flight of the Philippine Airlines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 9:40 a.m.
According to DoLE, of the 72 remains, 40 are from Al Khobar, 17 from Jeddah and 15 from Riyadh.
It added 62 of them died of COVID-19 while the rest perished from other causes.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said just like the first three batches of dead OFWs that were repatriated last month, the fourth batch will also be welcomed by top government officials.
This ,he said, is in recognition of their "heroism and valuable contribution" to the national economy.
"The same respect will be accorded to the arriving OFWs who lost their lives in the KSA in pursuit of a better future for their families and motherland,” Bello said.
He added:"We are ready for their arrival."
The Labor chief said they will "continue to bring home our heroes whatever it takes."
The arrival of the fourth batch of OFWs will bring to 264 the total number of repatriated human remains of OFWs from Saudi Arabia covered by the repatriation program of the labor department through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
