Over P470,000 worth of shabu seized in Makati anti-criminality op
Police seized a total of P479,468 worth of shabu from five individuals who were initially accosted for illegal gambling in Makati City on Wednesday, March 29.
Police identified the suspects as Ronnie Saing, Jayson Aggabao, Edgardo Alcaraz, Ronaldo Permejo, and Sheryl Jamirez.
The police report said operatives from Makati Police Station were conducting a routine patrol when a tipster informed them about a group engaged in illegal gambling in Laperal Compound on Bernardino Street in Brgy. Guadalupe Viejo.
The police officers went to the area where they caught the five suspects engaging in illegal gambling.
Upon searching the suspects, the police recovered five medium and seven small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu worth P479,468.
The five suspects will be charged for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 (anti-illegal gambling law) and Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), police said.
They are now detained at the custodial facility in Makati City Police, while the recovered pieces of evidence will be turned over to the forensic unit for examination.
