Over 200 Antipolo LGU workers test positive for COVID-19

Over 200 workers of the Antipolo City government tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares said the additional cases were the result of the city's aggressive contact tracing and testing.

The patients are now being quarantined in isolation facilities.

Among the employees who tested positive were those from the Office of the Mayor, Office of the Vice Mayor, City Health Office, Antipolo Hospital System 1, 2, 3, and 4,  Philippine National Police, and Department of Education.

Ynares said the city hall will remain open despite the rise in positive cases.

The city mayor urged the public to continue observing health protocols inside the city hall.

Antipolo has recorded a total of 2,051 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,598 recoveries, and 74 deaths.
