One thousand five hundred sixty coast guard personnel out of the 1,630 who tested positive for COVID-19 have now recovered from the disease, according to the latest report from Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Twenty-nine of the reported figures are new recoveries, with zero deaths, lowering the tally of active cases at PCG to 70.
The agency said the health condition of their infected frontline personnel is regularly monitored, especially the 22 cases of reinfection as of Oct. 2, wherein five of whom remain active, while 17 others have successfully recovered for the second and third time of reinfection.
Aside from the regular conduct of swab testing, the Command also ensures the regular supply of vitamins, personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, and medical supplies, as well as the implementation of strategic deployment to ensure that frontline personnel have rest periods and work breaks.
Meanwhile, the PCG quarantine facility that can accommodate up to 224 frontline personnel at one time will be inaugurated on Oct. 10. This will allow the PCG Medical Service to better manage the active COVID-19 cases within the organization for their speed recovery and rehabilitation.
