The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday reported only two new COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) with no new fatalities and no new recoveries among Filipinos abroad.
The new cases were recorded in Asia and the Pacific, according to the report gathered by DFA from its foreign service posts.
To date, the total number of confirmed cases is at 10,869, total fatalities at 801, and total recoveries at 6,919.
On international border control due to the pandemic, the DFA advises Filipino travelers that while general inbound restriction is still in effect in Japan, transit is now allowed. Those permitted entry are subject to medical protocols and procedures.
Similarly, those who are exempt from entry restrictions imposed by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russia are now subject to strict medical protocols such as presentation of negative COVID-19 test result, mandatory screenings, among others.
Ukraine, meanwhile, has opened its borders to travelers, including Filipinos, subject to flight availability and medical protocols.
