No new COVID-19 fatality among overseas Filipinos reported Saturday
No new fatality due to COVID-19 was reported among overseas Filipinos Saturday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
However, there were five new confirmed cases, bringing the number of total cases among Filipinos abroad to 10,549.
A lone recovery was also recorded, taking the recoveries to 6,750.
The death toll remains at 793 while active cases are at 3,006.
The Foreign Affairs department said the latest data were all from Asia and Pacific region.
It added that compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of recoveries and under treatment among nationals abroad increased slightly to 63.99 percent and 28.50 percent, respectively; while total fatalities due to the disease saw a slight decrease at 7.52 percent.
Latest data showed that the Asia and Pacific region has now a total of 1,440 cases with 1,069 recoveries, and eight deaths. More than 300 individuals are undergoing treatment.
Most of the cases among Filipinos abroad are reported from the Middle East and Africa with 7,100 cases. A total of 4,277 of them have already recovered while 512 succumbed to the illness.
Europe has 1,199 cases with 938 recoveries, and 95 deaths while the Americas have 810 cases with 466 recoveries, and 178 deaths.
