Man with vast probe experience is next PhilHealth head honcho?
President Duterte may appoint a man with a vast experience in investigation as replacement for retired Brig. Gen. Ricardo Morales who resigned Wednesday as president and chief executive officer of the alleged graft-ridden Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Sen. Christopher ‘’Bong’’ Go said Saturday.

During a DWIZ radio interview Saturday afternoon, Go said that aside from being a good investigator, Morales’ replacement is a "silent worker.’’
After talking to the President early Saturday morning while they were in Davao City, Go said that President might announce Morales’ successor this Monday.
As chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go prefers that the next PhilHealth PCEO must have a zero tolerance against graft, ‘’matapang’’ (courageous), has the "balls" (bayag), transparent in his official duties, and the will power to cleanse PhilHealth of corruption that is systemic.
Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, chairman of the Senate Committee of the Whole (COW), presided over the three in-person and virtual public hearings into the wide ranging irregularities at PhilHealth with Morales denying any complicity recently.
Sen. Panfilo M. Lacson, committee vice chairman, had earlier said the COW might release its report on the PhilHealth mess for signature by its members and later debated upon at the Senate session hall.
A copy of the COW report was scheduled to be submitted to a Malacanang-created task force to undertake an in-depth probe into the irregularities at PhilHealth that runs into billions of pesos.
Go backed the task force investigating PhilHealth and its filing of appropriate charges against those involved.
He said he would recommend the adoption by the COW in its committee report that is expected to be submitted for signature by committee members this coming week the following:
-- Preventive suspension of all those involved in Information Technology (IT) overpricing cases.
-- Creation of an IT system at PhilHealth with active participation of the Department of Information Communications and Technology (DICT) where its list of beneficiaries is cleansed of garbage.
-- Review possible legislative amendments of PhilHealth law such as regular rotation of its officials to avoid familiarity.
-- Creation of separate office just like National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) to reduce cases of collusion.
-- The cutting of a finger of a first time corruption violator and more fingers for succeeding corruption cases to stop corruption once and for all.
