The House of Representatives leadership is taking advantage of the lenghty summer break to the hone the skills and knowledge of its staff.

On Wednesday, March 29, staff from Office of Speaker Martin Romualdez and those from the offices of Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre participated in a whole-day training seminar.

Spearheaded by Deputy Secretary General Sofonias Gabonada, Jr. the seminar was conducted in two separate segments.

The morning session was titled, “Creating a High-Performance Organization Thru Culture Change” and it was held at the Romualdez Hall of the House of Representatives in Batasan Complex, Quezon City.

Meanwhile, the afternoon session took the form of separate breakout rooms with different learning modules, such as technical writing and social media management for the technical staff.

There was more to the seminar though than just technical writing and social media management.

Members of the administrative staff also learned about basic table setting and service, while the drivers and members of the security detail were given practical lessons on basic VIP security.

According to Gabonada, the seminar is part of the continuing joint effort of the Office of the Speaker and Tingog Party-list to promote the professional development of their personnel and enhance the delivery of services to the Filipino people.

The House is on summer recess from March 23 to May 7.
