Fr. Sonny Ramirez passes away

Father Erasmo “Sonny" Ramirez passed away on Saturday, October 10, at the age of 74.

Ramirez was one of the founders of the Oasis of Love Charismatic Community.

Ramirez’s nephew confirmed his passing in a Facebook post.

“My heart is in a lot of hurt this evening with the very sad news of my Uncle passing away. Deep down I know he is with his best friend, the Lord. I can imagine him enjoying himself with his brothers and parents,” said Eric Ramirez in his Facebook post.

“I truly wish we could have had more time spent together despite our physical distance. Rest In Peace Tito Sonny Ramirez. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please watch over us until we meet again,” he added.

The Colegio de San Juan de Letran expressed its condolences to the loved ones of Ramirez. Fr. Ramirez was an alumnus of the said educational institution.

“We pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Fr. Sonny Ramirez, OP, Letran alumnus,” it said.

“Eternal rest grant unto him, O’ Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen,” it added.
