Farmer killed by jealous factory worker in Quezon

CANDELARIA, Quezon – Police arrested a 30-year-old factory worker after he allegedly killed a farmer he suspected of having an affair with his wife in Purok 3, Barangay Malabanan Sur, this town, on Wednesday night, March 29. Investigation showed that the victim, Allan D. Matutina, was driving his motorcycle on his way home at around 10:30 p.m. when the suspect, Christian Cabalquinto Selga, blocked his path. Selga stabbed him twice in the chest with a kitchen knife. The suspect escaped but he was cornered by responding policemen. Matutina was taken to the hospital where he died. The suspect was positively identified by a witness as the one who killed Matutina. Police recovered the knife the Selga used in the killing. Investigation also showed that Selga’s wife and Matutina had an illicit relationship, police said. Police said murder charges will be filed against the suspect who is now on the custodial facility of the Candelaria police.
