DPWH completes P16-M road-widening project in Siargao

GENERAL LUNA, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Caraga has completed the widening of the Junction National Road-Antipolo-Tuboran-Quezon-Mabini Road on this island. In a progress report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Director Pol delos Santos said the project involved the concreting of the road shoulder and line canal. This, Delos Santos said, will help accommodate a larger volume of traffic and ensure the safety and vehicle maneuverability of motorists by clearing the right-of-way (ROW) farther. The 1.16-kilometer project had a budget of ₱16 million and was implemented by the DPWH Surigao del Norte 1st District Engineering Office. “The recent completion of the road-widening project will definitely ensure ease in mobility of Siargaonons and goods especially the mobility of tourists in that beautiful island,” Delos Santos added.
