Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III said Wednesday the group calling for the formation of a revolutionary government (rev gov) may be investigated if complaints are filed against them.

However, Densing reiterated that the group’s call is merely a way of “expressing themselves.''
In an interview over GMA News, Densing admitted that the group promoting the creation of a revolutionary government is known to the President.
He identified the leader of the rev gov group as former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief Gene Mamondiong.
Densing also said that Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John Castriciones and DAR Undersecretary Emy Padilla are part of the group.
President Duterte has said that he has no ties to the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee, the group pushing the rev gov.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana emphasized the move is “illegal and unconstitutional’’ and has no support from the Department of National Defense (DND). Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa has ordered the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to probe the group.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said pushing for the rev gov was ill-timed as the national government has its hands full and preoccupied with the COVID-19 pandemic response.
