DFA reports no new fatality due to COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad; cases now 10,181

No new fatality due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among Filipinos abroad was reported Saturday while cases grew to 10,181 and recoveries rose to 6,431, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

Thirteen new confirmed cases were added to the total cases while 10 new recovered patients were reported.

The death toll remained at 768 with no new reported fatality. Active cases are now at 2,982.

According to the department, the new confirmed cases and recoveries were reported from the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe.

Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of Filipinos who have recovered from COVID-19 increased slightly to 63.17 percent of the total confirmed cases, the department noted.

Those who are under treatment saw a decrease to 29.29 percent while the percentage of fatalities among COVID-19-infected Filipinos abroad slightly rose to 7.54 percent.

Latest data showed that most of the confirmed cases are from the Middle East and Africa with 7,002 total cases. More than half of them have already recovered with the region tallying 4,205 recoveries. The region has 487 deaths.

The remaining cases among nationals abroad are scattered in the Asia Pacific Region, countries in Europe, and the Americas.

The Asia Pacific Region has a total of 1,205 cases of COVID-19 among migrant Filipinos, with 888 recoveries, and eight deaths.

Europe has 1,169 confirmed cases with 879 recoveries, and 95 deaths while the Americas has 805 cases of COVID-19 infected Filipinos, with 459 recoveries, and 178 deaths.
