No new deaths were reported among overseas Filipinos due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Saturday, August 29, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
While there are no fatalities reported, five new confirmed cases of the disease among Filipinos abroad were recorded, bringing the total number of cases to 10,067.
There were also 28 new recovered patients, driving the recoveries to 6,123 while the death toll remains at 755.
The 28 new recoveries were recorded in Europe and the Middle East, the department said.
“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of Filipinos who have recovered from COVID-19 increased to almost 61 percent of the total confirmed cases, while those who are under treatment decreased slightly to 31.68 percent,” it added.
Active cases among migrant Filipinos are now at 3,189.
Meanwhile the percentage of fatalities among COVID-19-affected Filipinos abroad saw a slight increase to 7.5 percent.
Most of the cases among Filipinos abroad are reported in countries in the Middle East with 6,968 but 4,162 of them have already recovered. It is also the region with highest deaths among Filipino patients with 474.
Europe has 1,165 total confirmed cases with 730 recoveries, and 95 deaths. The Asia and Pacific Region, on the other hand, has 1,139 confirmed cases with 777 recoveries, and 8 deaths.
The Americas has 795 cases with 454 recoveries, and 178 deaths.
