DAVAO CITY – Davao region posted 76 more cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Thursday that sent its total number of infected patients over the 2,000-mark.
Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin of the Department of Health Davao Center for Health Development released on August 27, 76 more cases were recorded from the tests done by two of the three laboratories in the region.
The DOH said, with the additional cases, the total number of cases has reached 2,015, with 443 of these still active cases.
Davao City recorded the highest number of new cases with 57, followed by Davao del Sur with seven, Davao del Norte with five, Davao Oriental with four, and Davao de Oro with three cases.
The DOH said 83.3 percent or 369 of the remaining active cases were asymptomatic, 15.1 percent or 67 cases were mild, 1.4 percent or six cases were severe, and only one case was categorized as critical.
The DOH also recorded 28 additional recoveries on Thursday, bringing to 1,506 the total number of reported recoveries.
It said the recoveries included 11 individuals from Davao City, nine from Davao de Oro, three each are from Davao del Norte and Davao Oriental, and two are from Davao del Sur.
Two deaths from Davao City were also recorded. The region has a total of 66 deaths due to COVID-19.
