There are three new confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), bringing its total to 451.
According to the COVID-19 Daily Monitoring Report of the BuCor on Monday, there are currently 30 active cases and 395 recoveries.
BuCor has recorded a total of 292 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), 26 deaths, and 251 recoveries. Out of this, 192 are from the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) while 100 are from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW).
Twenty three have died in the national penitentiary while 168 recovered. Three died in the CIW while 83 recovered.
There are 159 confirmed cases with the BuCor personnel with 144 recoveries and zero deaths.
Meanwhile, a memorandum of agreement was recently signed between BuCor and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) with the assistance of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) to use Site Harry as a temporary isolation area and quarantine ward for COVID-19 positive foreigner PDLs with mild to moderate symptoms under their custody.
