K-pop group BTS member Jimin has set new sales records for a solo artist with his album “Face.”
“Face” was released on March 24 and is Jimin’s first solo album.

According to Hanteo Chart, “Face” sold 1,454,223 copies in the first week of release from March 24 to 30, surpassing the record of first-week sales of 1.12 million copies set by trot singer Lim Young-woong’s “I’m Hero” album.
Jimin’s “Face” sold 1,021,532 copies on the first day of release on March 24, which also set a record as this was the first time that a solo artist sold one million copies of an album on the first day of release.
“Face” went on to top Hanteo’s weekly physical album chart for March 20 to 26 with 1,036,294 copies or a physical index record of 1,183,668.
In addition, “Face” also sold 225,000 copies in Japan based on the Oricon Chart, the highest for a solo artist this year.
The album ranked first on the Oricon weekly combined ranking with 231,501 points, and ranked first on the chart’s daily and weekly album charts.
“Face” is expected to rank high on the Billboard 200 chart that will be released next week.
