BARMM top cop relieved over 2 syndicated estafa cases

Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has replaced the regional director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) following the serving of the arrest warrant in connection with a syndicate estafa cases.

In an order dated March 29, Azurin terminated the designation of Police Brig. Gen. John. Guyguyon as the director of Police Regional Office-BAR. The deputy regional director of the regional police will serve as the acting regional director.

The two arrest warrants, issued by two courts in the National Capital Region, were served on Guyguyon at around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at the PRO-BAR headquarters in Parang, Maguindanao. Both were for two cases of syndicated estafa.

Guyguyon did not resist arrest, according to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) which served the arrest warrants. 

Guyguyon is expected to be presented to the two courts that issued the arrest warrants. 

 Both Guyguyon and the PNP are yet to issue a statement in connection with the case.
