Two more House of Representatives employees tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, September 5, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 64.

The Office of the Secretary General disclosed that an employee of the Oversight Committee who last reported for work on September 1 and 2 was the first to get a positive result of the COVID 19 test.
“She got herself tested after experiencing chills, colds, and loss of smell,” said Secretary General Jose Luis Montales.
Another employee, a member of the Information and Communications Technology staff, underwent tests after experiencing fever, body weakness, cough and loss of smell.
He reported for work on August 24 and 26.
“Both are not close contacts of any confirmed case in HRep. Contact tracing is ongoing,” said Montales.
On September 2, two employees of the Engineering Department, were added to the positive COVID 19 cases.
The new COVID-19 cases brought to 17 the number of House personnel still recovering from the dreaded disease.
Northern Samar Rep. Paul Daza was the latest congressman to test positive for the dreaded disease. He remained in the list of active cases.
Daza was the sixth House member to reveal his COVID 19 condition.
Senior Citizens Partylist Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. was the lone fatality among congressmen who were infected.
Others who tested positive for COVID-19 were Deputy Speakers Johnny Pimentel and Mujiv Hataman: Reps. Samier Tan of Sulu and Henry Villarica of Bulacan.
