Fourteen new confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) among Filipinos abroad have been reported from two countries in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday.
The latest confirmed cases bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections among overseas Filipinos to 9,973.
The DFA also reported one new recovery and no new fatalities in its latest tally.
No updates were received from the Americas and Europe.
“The DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of Filipinos abroad and stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” the department said in a statement.
Of the total, 3,371 are live cases, 5,869 have recovered and 733 died due to COVID-19 infection.
For the last several months, Middle East/Africa remains the combined region with the most number of Filipinos infected with COVID-19 with 6,927 cases.
