CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office (PRO)-13 will deploy 1,274 policemen to secure the Holy Week in the Caraga region.
They will be assigned to streets, main thoroughfares, seaports, airports, churches, transportation hubs, places of worship, malls, markets, commercial areas, parks, and tourist destinations.
“Deployed personnel shall man police assistance desks, provide police visibility through foot and mobile patrols, and conduct checkpoints. This is to ensure that no criminal elements can exploit the holiday rush,” PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said.
PRO-13 has started issuing operational guidelines for the security plan to be followed by police regional and provincial and city offices as well as municipal police stations.
“The police force will not only be seen but felt by the Caraganons and vacationers in all public places,” Labra said. “We are expecting a large number of vacationers, travelers during this entire period, and we want to make sure that they will have a safe and enjoyable experience,” Labra added.
Labra called on the public to cooperate and follow the rules and regulations set by the government to deter the occurrence of crime, prevent accidents, and avoid unnecessary inconvenience.
