ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police recovered a military explosive in a junk shop in Pagadian City on Monday, Feb. 20.
The Bomb Squad swooped down on the junk shop owned by Necario Alcano after receiving reports that an explosive was in the area.
The explosive later identified as a CTG 60mm was reportedly brought by a still unidentified person to the junk shop to be sold.
Alcano refused to buy the explosive, saying that it was prohibited. The man fled the junk shop and left the explosive with Alcano.
Police are still trying to identify the seller while the explosive was brought to the Zamboanga del Sur police PECU (Provincial Explosive Ordnance and Canine Unit) for disposition.
