An elderly woman who traveled to the Philippines tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Australia, the Australian government confirmed Thursday.
"Her travel details are being obtained and will be disclosed if she posed any risk to any other passengers on her flight," read a statement posted on the New South Wales Ministry of Health website.
With the addition, the total number of positive infections in New South Wales rose to 22. Australia has at least 43 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
"NSW Health is continuing to find and respond to cases as they are diagnosed to slow any spread of COVID-19 in the community," it added.
The Philippines, meanwhile, has recorded three positive cases of the disease, all of which were Chinese nationals who came from Wuhan City, the epicenter of COVID-19.
