Some health workers scrambled for a ride on the first day of the ECQ after the suspension of public transport.
Some had to walk for a long distance to reach their work destination.
The government has placed the entire island of Luzon under ECQ amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has so far infected 187 people and claimed 12 lives in the country.
This entails strict home quarantine in all households, the regulated provision of food and heatlh services, the heightened presence of uniformed men, and the suspension of mass transportation.
On Monday night, Robredo’s office delivered the first batch of PPE sets to nine hospitals in Metro Manila as part of its assistance to COVID-19 frontliners.
The OVP and its private partner Kaya Natin! Movement raised P17.3 million to purchase the PPE for the benefit of 2,433 frontline health workers.
