(KEVIN TRISTAN ESPIRITU / MANILA BULLETIN) “Para rin po sa kaalaman ng lahat, five ang kumpirmadong may COVID-19 na taga-Pasig as of 5 p.m.,” Sotto said. (For everyone’s knowledge, as of 5 p.m. five Pasig residents are confirmed to have COVID-19.) The mayor said the two new cases were added to the initial three cases of COVID-19 he earlier disclosed. “So we have five in total now,” Sotto told the Manila Bulletin. “Anything I announce is coordinated with the DOH (Department of Health),” he said when asked if the two new cases were included in the confirmed cases disclosed by the Health department. The city government has already conducted the contact tracing of those who had close contact with patients. “Our contact tracing has been successful so far,” Sotto said, adding that “all who have had close contact with the patients are under quarantine.” According to the data released by the DOH Wednesday night, there are four patients with COVID-19 who were identified to be residents of Pasig. The patients were confined in various hospitals in Metro Manila, the Health department said. Sotto said the city government will continuously conduct disinfection of public spaces as part of their precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the city. As of Thursday night, there are now 52 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, following the three new cases reported by the DOH.
