The UST Hospital in Manila reported that two patients admitted at its facility tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), The varsitarian – the official University of Santo Tomas student publication – announced Saturday.
One person under investigation, on the other hand, is closely being monitored, it added.
According to the student publication, Medical Director Dr. Marcellus Francis Ramirez told them that “the hospital had sent trainees and staff, who were exposed to the patients, home for self-quarantine.”
“All necessary precautions are being done to protect the health of our staff and trainees. We are in close coordination with the Department of Health and Regional Epidemiological and Surveillance Unit,” Ramirez was quoted as saying by The Varsitarian.
“Contract-tracing is being done and contingencies are in place,” he added.
