In a report from the Batangas Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), 65-year old Anatalia Dionisio suffered a heart attack while being evacuated from Talisay town on Sunday while 27-year old Danilo Toledo also died of a heart attack on Monday.
Authorities also monitored two deaths due to vehicular accident in Lipa City on Monday but investigation is still being conducted to determine if the road crash is related to the eruption.
The PDRRMO of Batangas also reported a total of P217,794,702 in damage to agriculture, especially in the areas that were blanketed by thick ashes emitted by the volcano since Sunday afternoon.
The figure, however, is a result of the initial assessment.
Based on the breakdown, cassava and other high-value crops suffered the most with P93.3 million and P92 million in damages, respectively.
Badly hit by the damage in cassava are the towns of San Nicolas, Agoncillo, and Talisay.
Corn, banana, and calamansi agricultural productions were also badly hit with almost P20 million in damage.
The coffee industry of Batangas was also affected as it reported a P1.2 million loss in the coffee plantations located in Talisay, Laurel, Agoncillo, San Nicolas, Balete, Taal, and Lemery.
The rice production of Laurel town was also severely affected with a P4.6 million damage.
The figure, however, does not include the reported P5.2 million in agricultural damage in Cavite.
The assessment on the impact of the volcano eruption on the livestock industry has yet to be released. Batangas is known for cattle, goat, pig, and egg productions.
As of 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the Batangas PDRRMO reported that there were 18,646 families, or 82,068 evacuees staying in 287 evacuation centers in Batangas.
