St. Luke's Medical Center- Global City confirmed that it was able to identify the patient who turned out positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement it released Saturday, St. Luke’s Global City said that it screened the patient at the isolation room located outside the emergency wing.
"St. Luke's Medical Center- Global City was able to identify, isolate, and screen a patient at the isolation room located outside the emergency wing that turned out to be positive for COVID-19." it said.
The hospital also said the patient was not exposed to other patients because he did not enter the main hospital premises.
"Fortunately, the patient was identified right away and exposure was limited as he did not enter the main hospital premises and main emergency room." the management said.
The hospital said the Department of Health (DOH) facilitated the transfer of the patient to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
“The hospital has always been equipped to handle and contain such cases. We hav taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety and care of all our patients and healthcare workers following a protocol set by our infectious disease specialists. “they said.
The DOH on Friday said a 62-year-old Filipino, who had no travel history to countries with recorded cases of COVID-19, tested positive for the disease.
While the Taguig City government confirmed on Saturday that one of the two new COVID-19 cases was an employee of Deliotte Philippines.
