The Makati Medical Center (MMC) has vowed to assist the Philippine National Police (PNP) in improving the delivery of services to its hospitals and other treatment facilities for policemen and their dependents.

PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. said the commitment to develop a sustainable and strategic organizational and operational management plan for PNP hospitals and treatment facilities is embodied in signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the MMC Foundation.

“The partnership aims to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to PNP personnel and their families. Under the MOA, the MMC Foundation will assist the PNP Health Service in developing a sustainable and strategic organizational and operational management plan, as well as professional competency, designed to strengthen PNP hospitals,” said Azurin.

He explained that the MOA is part of the Public-Private Partnership Program for the organizational strengthening of the PNP General Hospital and the PNP Health Service.

Azurin said the assistance will also cover various interventions such as conferences, workshops, coaching and mentoring sessions, and training interventions for all concerned PNP hospital management staff.

At present, two doctors from the PNP Health Service are undergoing residency at MMC which they will complete in 2025.

Azurin said health security is a crucial concern, not only for the PNP but for the entire country: “We welcome the possibility of discovering new avenues for collaboration with like-minded organizations who share our goal of building a strong and resilient community focused on health and wellness.”

“We are committed to working closely with the foundation to ensure the success of this program. We are optimistic that with this team-up, we can bring about positive changes to the PNP health service,” he added.

The MOA signing was done at the MMC Tower 3, Keyland Center, Makati City.

The event was attended by top MMC officials led by Dr. Victor L Gisbert and other top officials of the PNP.
