Due to the rapid increase of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country, several malls have implemented various countermeasures to ensure the safety of the public.
In an advisory on Tuesday, SM Supermalls said it has started implementing safety measures against the spread of COVID-19.
Security guards will check the temperature of the mall-goers before they enter the mall.
“Those with temperatures above 37.6 degrees celsius are not allowed the premises and advised to seek medical help,” the mall said.
Alcohol dispensers are installed at all entrances, while all security guards and mall personnel are required to wear facemasks.
SM Mall also said common areas with heavy customer contact are disinfected regularly before, within, and after mall hours. The comfort rooms are also sanitized every 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, Ayala Malls is also implementing preventive measures to keep mall-goers protected.
The mall also implemented a temperature check before entering the mall.
They conduct an hourly sanitation of door handles, escalator handrails, concierge desks, and elevator buttons, as well as disinfection of the restrooms.
Like other malls, Robinsons Malls is also committed to keeping its malls safe and sanitized.
The mall has assigned sanitation personnel to keep all public points clean and disinfected. It also implements a temperature check at all mall entrances.
The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Tuesday nine new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confined cases in the country to 33.
