Pasig eyes to isolate mild COVID-19 cases at central quarantine facility

Pasig City aims to place 200 more mild coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in its centralized quarantine facility to isolate them and prevent the further spread of the virus in the community.

Mayor Vico Sotto on Saturday visited the facility located at the Rizal High School to check on the COVID-19 patients quarantined there.

“For the next week, our target is to put 200 more mild cases in the centralized quarantine facility,” Sotto posted on social media.

“For every patient we put there, we can save ten people. Maybe a thousand, we will never know,” he added.

The Pasig City government converted Rizal High School into its centralized quarantine facility for asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 cases.

“We are working double time to pull out more people from the communities so we can care for them in centralized quarantine,” the mayor said.

Sotto earlier said two new buildings at Rizal High School would be opened to increase the capacity of the quarantine facility and accommodate 126 more patients.

Pasig City has 2,231 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1,234 active cases, 129 deaths and 868 recoveries.
