A Filipina household service worker in Hong Kong tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Philippine Consulate General said Tuesday.
The consulate general added that it has already sent a team to the hospital where the patient is confined to check on her condition.
Reuters reported that the Filipina worked for one of the previously confirmed COVID-19 cases and spent an hour out with over 10 friends who the health department is currently contacting.
Overseas Filipino workers (OFW) are now allowed to return to Hong Kong and Macau after the Philippine government partially lifted the travel ban on Tuesday.
There are over 210,000 Filipinos working in Hong Kong and another 32,000 in Macau, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
