"We began accepting recovery flights from 10 p.m. last night to 4 a.m. this morning. We lifted the daily maintenance closure. We will do it again tonight until airlines are able to fully recover,” Monreal said in a statement.
Since the resumption of operations on Monday (Jan. 13) at 10 a.m. until 7 a.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 14), there were 360 flights that have already left and arrived via NAIA.
Monreal said that NAIA is back to operations with daily scheduled flights being able to land and take-off as scheduled.
According to Monreal, a total of 516 flights were affected by the suspension of NAIA flight operations from 6 p.m. last Jan. 12 to 9 a.m. Jan. 13. There are 283 arriving flights while 233 account for departures.
The airport chief has requested the passengers of affected flights to keep checking the airlines or travel agents the status of their flights before proceeding to NAIA.
