Filipinos must be made aware of the achievements made by the Pag-IBIG Fund, and what it generally does for the people.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said this after the Pag-IBIG Fund reached a record high P44.50 billion net income.

"Kaya’t makikita n'yo maganda talaga ang performance ng Pag-IBIG Fund. Kaya’t sinasabi ko sa kanila dapat ipaalam natin sa taong-bayan na yung Pag-IBIG Fund ganito ang naging performance (You can see that the Pag-IBIG Fund performed well. So I'm saying that the public must be informed about this)," Marcos said in an interview on Tuesday, March 28.

"Para naman malaki ang tiwala nila na masasabi natin ‘pag nilagay ninyo ‘yung pera ninyo diyan talagang lalaki ‘yan at hindi magkakaproblema, hindi mawawala yung savings ninyo at saka yung investment ninyo (So that they can earn the trust of the public that if they put their money there, there won't be a problem, they will not lose their investment)," he added.

The President stressed that the Pag-IBIG Fund was "self-sustaining" as it posted an increase of 6.53 percent for regular savings, and 7.03-percent hike for Modified Pag-IBIG 2 Savings (MP2) in 2022.

With this, Marcos underscored the need for the public to know more about the Pag-IBIG Fund, and how they can benefit from it.

"So I think the record, the Chairman’s Report that we heard today speaks for itself and that will – but we will... Beyond the report that we heard this afternoon, we will explain to the public what Pag-IBIG is for and how it has performed over the last 42 years and to give them the confidence to save and to invest with the Fund," he said.

Pag-IBIG reported that it was able to assist the highest number of members with 105,212 in securing new homes from Pag-IBIG’s housing loan programs, and over 2.61 million aided through its short-term loans.
