By Niño Luces  LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The Sangguniang Panglungsod of Legazpi City has enacted, in a special session on Sunday morning, an ordinance implementing expanded coverage of curfew hours as a precautionary measure against the spread of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Legazpi City has an existing curfew ordinance covering minors who are not allowed to roam around the city from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. But under approved expanded curfew ordinance, all persons will not be allowed to roam around the city from 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. except for call center agents, medical personnel, skeletal force from national government agencies and local government authorities, accredited media practioners, employees of public utility companies and vegetables, meat and fish vendors. "The Sangguniang Panglunsod of Legazpi City in special session, 10 a.m., of March 15, has enacted SP Ordinance 15-0009-2020, an ordinance implementing expanded coverage of the curfew hours from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. in times of epidemic and other national or city-wide health emergencies," said Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal. Rosal also said that, under the ordinance, all establishments in the city are encouraged to end their daily operations by 8 p.m. except for drug stores, medical institutions and business processing outsourcing (BPOs). He said that curfew hours will be implemented starting March 15, and succeeding nights. Mayor Joseling "Jun" Aguas of Sto. Domingo town, Albay province also issued an executive order, implementing curfew hours for all from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. in the entire town. Aguas said that the curfew will immediately be implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through community transmission.
