The Ramil De Jesus-coached De La Salle tries to continue its perfect run when it meets Far Eastern University in the second round of the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday, March 29, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Lady Spikers (8-0), who carry much momentum after convincing wins over the defending champion National University Lady Bulldogs last week, will attempt to sweep their season series against the Lady Tamaraws (4-4) in their 2 p.m. encounter.
With the surprise return of its long-time head tactician in De Jesus in the second round, the inspired La Salle side will lean on the duo of super rookie Angel Canino and graduating Jolina dela Cruz to stretch their win streak to nine games.
However, FEU, which is also coming off a straight-set win over University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, will attempt to stage a surprise to keep itself in the top four contention behind University of Santo Tomas at fifth.
In the earlier play, UST (5-3) is seeking to bounce back after a painful four-set loss to Adamson when it tussles with the hapless University of the East (0-8) at 12 noon.
The Golden Tigresses will continue to rely on the consistent production of team captain Eya Laure and rookie Regina Jurado to help the team rejoin the win column.
