Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday issued a directive requiring expats from the Philippines and nine other countries to "undergo medical examinations."
The examination certificate "must be issued by health centers approved by the Embassy of State of Kuwait," the DGCA stressed.
"If there is no Kuwait embassy in these countries, they must be certified by the health authorities operating in the said countries," it added.
The circular will be implemented on March 8.
The DGCA said expats without a "virus-free certificate" will be barred from entering Kuwait and will also be deported "on the same carrier without the State bearing any financial costs."
Airline companies that will violate the directive will also be fined.
Meanwhile. the DGCA said Kuwaiti citizens are exempted from the circular.
"The examination procedures in force at Kuwait International Airport will be applied to them by the Kuwait health authorities," it said.
