“Being a responsible leader and mother, I am subjecting myself to home quarantine even if I do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 as a standard precautionary measure advised by health authorities,” Baronda said in a statement.
The neophyte lady lawmaker arrived at the decision to go on self-quarantine after having a meeting with Secretaries Arthur Tugade of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Wendel Avisado of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Tugade has gone on self-quarantine after reportedly meeting a person positive with COVID-19.
On the other hand, Avisado also had a prior meeting with Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, who also reportedly met with a person who was tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Iloilo City government is going to implement preventive measures of home quarantine for those who have travelled abroad and travelled to areas in the country with COVID-19 positive cases.
“This is to protect the health and safety of the people and to contain the spread of COVID-19,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas in a new executive order.
