Gov't work in San Juan canceled as it goes on disinfection mode Friday

By Jhon Aldrin Casinas Work in all local government unit offices in San Juan City on Friday, March 13, will be canceled to pave the way for the conduct of sanitation and disinfection activities amid the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This is a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19,” the city government said. But personnel of the City Health Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and other critical service providers are required to report for work on Friday. The cases of COVID-19 in San Juan had already jumped to eight after the city government announced Thursday a new case involving a 57-year-old male resident of Barangay Greenhills. The city government had earlier conducted sanitation and disinfection activities in some public schools and public spaces to curb the transmission of the disease. Misting and disinfection along the streets of Barangay West Crame – where a 30-year-old female has tested positive for COVID-19 – were also conducted the past few days. “The health and welfare of all our constituents in San Juan City are our top priorities so we are taking precautionary measures such as the sanitation and disinfection of all our LGU offices and schools,” Zamora said in statement Thursday. “We have to do everything we can and however we can to serve our constituents better, especially in times like this,” the mayor added.
