Dr. Vicki Belo donates P500K to PH Red Cross for eruption-affected residents

By Jel Santos The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Wednesday afternoon received a P500, 000 donation from Dr. Vicki Belo for the residents affected and displaced by Taal Volcano’s eruption. (Photo from PRC) (Photo from PRC) Belo, along with her adorable daughter, Scarlet Snow, personally handed the P500, 000 check to PRC Chairman Richard Gordon at PRC Headquarters in Mandaluyong City. According to her, she has full confidence that PRC will utilize to help many evacuees affected by the eruption. “The reason that I feel confident giving money to the organization is because I know the money will definitely go where it is supposed to go,” Belo expressed. She also lauded PRC for its relentless efforts in helping the victims of calamities, saying it is the best place where people can put their donations. “You’ve been doing such a great job. PRC is the place to give for donations because they already have the logistics and the people,” she added. For his part, the PRC chairman said expressed gratitude to them for their generous donation for the evacuees. “This will go to our relief efforts for ‘#TaalEruption2020’ as well as for the earthquake and conflict areas from last year,” Gordon said. “Thank you, Vicki and Scarlet Snow for putting your trust and confidence in the Philippine Red Cross.” Since the volcano's eruption, PRC’s member volunteers have been tirelessly dedicating their time rescuing and helping the affected residents.
