The process should last 14 days, as per the Department of Health (DOH). “I was at the Senate with Mayor Inday Sara (Duterte-Carpio) yesterday (Wednesday) and I interacted as well with Senator Sherwin Gatchalian. Although he looks very healthy and asymptomatic, the most responsible thing to do is to subject myself to home quarantine and make sure that I won’t be spreading the virus in case I got it,” he said. Ungab and Mayor Duterte-Carpio attended the plenary session of the Commission on Appointments (CA) at the Senate. The CA confirmed them as Army reservists with the rank of colonel. Gatchalian and his colleague, Senator Nancy Binay announced they would undergo self-quarantine Wednesday night after a resource person during a recent Senate hearing tested positive for COVID-19. Mayor Duterte-Carpio, the President's daughter, also started her home quarantine Wednesday, Ungab bared. She said she had lunch that day with Gatchalian. "I want to assure my constituents that I will continue to work and serve them through electronic communication such as phone, emails, teleconference and videoconferencing,” said Ungab, who until last week was the chairman of the powerful House Appropriations Committee. The Mindanaoan was unseated from his panel chairmanship amid rumors of a coup against Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano. He was replaced by ACT-CIS Party-List Rep. Eric Go Yap.
