Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said the suspension was due to the growing threat to public health posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement, he said the voter registration will be suspended from March 10 until March 31, 2020.
"The public is advised to take all necessary precaution to limit their exposure to the possibility of COVID-19 infection," said Jimenez.
Voter registration resumed last January 20 and will run until September 30, 2021.
