Baguio records most number of COVID-19 cases in one day

BAGUIO CITY – This city listed 15 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, on Sunday, which is the city's highest number of virus afflictions recorded in one day yet.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the city will field more contact tracers to cover all patients, and will augment isolation facilities for those who will undergo quarantine.

An update in policies on border control, mall and market schedules and lockdowns will also be effected.

Residents were urged to remain calm, and to maintain vigilance in obeying health and safety protocols.

The new patients were a 35-year old female from Guisad Central, a 33-year old male from QM Subdivision, a 48-year old male from Camp Allen, a 36-year old female from Salud Mitra, 25-year old female from Engineers Hill, a 47-year old male from Kayang Ext., a 32-year old male and a 45-year old female from Irisan, a 50-year old male from San Vicente, a 20-year old male from P. Zamora, a 34-year old male and 37-year old both from Session Road, a 24-year old male from Sta. Escolastica, a 28-year old female and 46-year old male both from Camp 7.

As of Sunday, 12 barangay have been on lockdown to facilitate complete and efficient contact tracing and disinfection following the 15 cases recorded. These barangays were Barangay Brookside, Engineer’s Hill, Lopez Jaena, New Lucban, MRR Queen of Peace, Trancoville, Asin Road, Bakakeng Central, Middle Quezon Hill, SLU-SVP, Sto. Tomas Central and Sto. Tomas Proper.

As of 7 p.m. Sunday, the city has a total of 95 confirmed cases, 45 active, 48 recoveries and two deaths.
