Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security Brigido Dulay also confirmed in a tweet Wednesday night, saying the Filipino, believed to be a domestic helper, is now undergoing quarantine and treatment.
“Our Philippine consulate in Hong Kong reported that an OFW has tested positive for the COVID-19 – the third case involving a Filipino in HK. The worker is now in a quarantine facility undergoing treatment,” Dulay said.
Hong Kong’s Center for Health Protection (CHP) announced on Wednesday that they are investigating four new case of COVID-19, including that of a 57-year-old female, a domestic helper of patients labeled as 76th and 91st.
The patient, according to the CHP, has good past health and was "asymptomatic."
"Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today (Wednesday, March 4, 2020),” it added.
This brings the number of Filipinos with COVID-19 in Hong Kong to three. The other two patients have recovered but still remain in the hospital for further tests. To date, the CHP said the total number of COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong is now at 105, comprising 104 confirmed cases and one probable case. The Consulate General said it is in touch with the three Filipinos and stands ready to render all necessary assistance to them.
