The number of Filipinos from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan who have tested positive for coronavirus disease (2019) (COVID-19) rose to 80 on Tuesday, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
"Per Tokyo Philippine Embassy, 80 Filipinos from the Diamond Princess cruise have so far tested positive for COVID-19," Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido Dulay said in a Twitter post.
He said 10 individuals have since been discharged with a clean bill of health.
The remaining Filipino crew for repatriation today have all tested negative, Dulay added.
Over 400 Filipino crew members and passengers of the coronavirus-infected vessel who tested negative of the virus are set to arrive in the Philippines today.
The Filipino evacuees will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.
