DAVAO CITY - The Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) has two new Persons Under Investigation (PUI) admitted inside its Isolation Facility for possible Coronoavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This was confirmed by SPMC chief of clinics Dr. Ricardo Audan with the Manila Bulletin on Wednesday afternoon.
Audan said the two patients are Filipinos who have travel history abroad. The two opted to go to a hospital for quarantine after manifesting symptoms of COVID-19.
But they were referred to SPMC on March 9 where medical personnel took their throat swab test and later sent it to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
Audan said the patients are doing okay while still under observation inside the facility.
“For the record, we have already catered to many PUIs, around 20 were already discharged. This is not our first time that we handled PUIs and none of them tested positive,” he said.
He said the test results of the two PUIs are expected to be released on Friday.
