2 of 3 repatriates from Japan tested negative of COVID-19

By Andrea Aro  The two out of three repatriates from Japan cruise ship who manifested symptoms of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) have tested negative from the disease, the Department of Health said Friday. (MANILA BULLETIN) (MANILA BULLETIN) "Dalawa nga po sa kanila ay lumabas na ang resulta ng laboratoryo at ito po ay negatibo. 'Yung isa na lang pong laboratory result ang hinihintay natin," Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a report from GMA News. (The laboratory results of the two of them already came out and it was negative. We are still waiting for the laboratory results of the other one.) According to Vergeire, those who tested negative from COVID-19 are no longer needed to undergo various laboratory tests for the virus but they will be under strict monitoring. The three male repatriates were taken to the Jose B. Lingad Hospital in Pampanga after two of them experienced a sore throat and the other one experienced a non-productive cough. The DOH recently said that there are 458 persons under quarantine at the Athletes’ Village in New Clark City. Of the said figure, 445 were repatriated from the M/V Diamond Princess cruise ship, while the 13 others were part of the Philippine repatriation team.
